Bryan Lee Robinson 1958 – 2017

Bryan Lee Robinson, 58, of Locust Grove, OK, passed away in the early morning hours of Easter Monday, April 17, 2017.

Bryan was born the youngest of four sons to Gordon and Alice (Johnson) Robinson in Oklahoma City, OK, on October 13, 1958. Gordon and Alice moved their family to Piedmont, OK in 1971; there, Bryan met (according to him) “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”, Cynthia “Cindy” Kay (Richard) Robinson, daughter of James and Barbara (Mader) Richard.

Bryan and Cindy were married on June 27, 1981. As they were always a little rebellious—they went against the culture and had 13 children who turned around and and gave them 30 grandchildren with more to come.

Bryan deeply loved all of his family and he couldn’t receive enough visits from his grandbabies.

Everyone knew Bryan by his unique walk and his signature laugh. Anyone who quotes him inadvertently mimicks his low, gravelly low voice.

Bryan entered the Catholic Church in 2003 and he eventually moved his family in 2004 to Locust Grove, OK to live near the Benedictine Abbey of Our Lady of the Annunciation of Clear Creek. He had a deep love for the monks of the monastery, especially his good friend, Br. Francis Bethel, OSB, and he had a true belief in his Catholic faith.

Bryan’s last weeks on Earth were spent heroically fighting to overcome the effects of sudden, decompensated congestive heart failure. He was constantly surrounded by his family and friends, a true testament to the man he was.

In his final moments, his “Most Beautiful Girl in the World” and his children were by his side.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Cindy. His children, Marcus and wife, Crystal Robinson, Heather, Tracy and husband, Steve Holaday, Kelly and husband, Jordan Willoughby,  Mary and husband, John Niles, Elizabeth, Bryan and wife, Diane Robinson, John, Rebecca and husband, Joseph Buscemi, Hunter, Michelle, and Therese along with 30 grandchildren.

His big brothers, John and Donald were his lifelong companions. They survive him as well as their wives Carol Robinson and Candace Robinson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Alice, his brother, Mac, and his son, James.
