Buddy Lawrence Baker 1943-2018

Buddy Lawrence Baker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away the afternoon of March 18, 2018 at the age of 74 years after a long battle with COPD/Emphysema at Deaconess Hospital.

Buddy was born October 26, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to John Littleton ”Jack” and Josephine Ardalene “Josie” (Ivey) Baker.

Buddy was a retired Owner/Operator of Universal Upholstery where he loved doing custom Street Rod interiors. But he also took great pride that he could upholster anything from covered wagons to freezers. He loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, traveling to and participating in car shows, buying and selling vehicles and swap meets,

Buddy is survived by his wife, Vicki Ann (Goucher) Baker of the home, one son Gary Thomas Baker of McAlester, OK and grandchildren Hope Camille and Sondra Elizabeth, two step sons, Michael Allen Haggard of Moore, OK & Brandon Loyd Haggard of McLoud, OK and grandchildren Caitlin Marie, Taylar Rose, Eli Marshall, Connor Allen, Heather Ann and Chisum Boyd. A brother, Paul Gene Smith of Edmond, OK and a sister, Tommie Jo Smith of Edmond, OK. Along with numerous nieces, a nephew and other family, friends and neighbors.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Dean Baker.

Celebration of Life will be held May 19, 2018 at 3100 Horse Shoe Bend, Edmond, OK. Family and friends are invited to bring any pictures and written stories or memories of Buddy to share with his family. The family would also like to invite everyone to bring a covered dish and have lunch with them at 11:30 am before the Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm.
