Carol Elaine Kunneman 1944-2016

carolkCarol Elaine Kunneman, 72, passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on May 5th, 1944, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, to Dale and Margaret Wrobbel. Carol graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1962. She also attended the University of Oklahoma for several semesters and Draughons Business College in Oklahoma City. Carol was married to Glenn Kunneman for 34 years, and to this union was born two children. They were her pride and joy, attending every assembly, game, concert, and performance from grade school through college.

Carol had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She spent her life putting others ahead of herself. While at the Center of Family Love for 15 years she helped individuals gain confidence and independence getting jobs in the community. She then spent 10 years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the Sisters of Mercy at the Convent located at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. She loved her time there; laughing and learning from the nuns. Carol faithfully played the organ every Sunday for over 50 years at The Federated Church in Kingfisher, OK. She continued to play for enjoyment after retiring.

Left to honor and remember Carol are her two children: Glenda Gatz and husband Gary of Piedmont, OK, and Dale Kunneman and wife Anita of Spring, TX; four grandchildren: Chandler and Cheldon Gatz, and Harrison and Karsten Kunneman; two sisters: Joyce Talbott and Dian Ludwig of Kingfisher; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

Carol truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her great smile and willingness to help anyone.

Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Carol are invited to the memorial service celebrating her life on Monday, January 16th, 2017, at 2:00pm at The Federated Church in Kingfisher.
