Christopher William Venters, 68, died unexpectedly in Oklahoma City on June 7, 2018. He was born in Puerto Rico at an Army base on December 26, 1949 to Anne Liccione Venters and Harley Eugene Venters. He graduated from University of Oklahoma and then Southern Methodist University Law School. Upon graduating he practiced law first with Legal Aid and then with his father Harley E. Venters for 20 years. He was working as public defense attorney with the County of Oklahoma for ten years and still working there at the time of his death.

 

He married Madelon Nebergall, the love of his life, on June 28, 2013. He was passionate about his family, his law practice and politics but dedicated the majority of his life to helping animals and people. He founded and was running Real Rescue, an animal rescue, at the time of his death. He will be sorely missed but all the people and animals whose life he touched.

 

He is survived by his wife Madelon Venters, his mother Anne Venters, and his two sisters Wanda Venters and Shelly Venters Jacobs; his nieces and nephews: Brent Adkins, Erin Miller, Jon Miller, Kelly Miller, Katy Jacobs. Haley Jacobs and Hannah Jacobs and five great nieces and nephew: Cole Adkins, Addison Paige Adkins, Jackson Miller, Theo Mayer, and Logan Rogers.

 

Services will be at Mayflower Congregational Church on June 23, 2018 at 1pm.
