John James Brady 1949-2016

John James (Jay) Brady, 67, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on December 18th in VA Hospital in OKC.

James was born in Oklahoma City to Maurice and Joella Thurman Brady on February 11, 1949. He went to high school at Northwest Classen High School and graduated in 1967. He entered the Navy and completed his service to our country in Vietnam after which he became an Insurance Agent/ Financial Advisor. Later he worked in the Oil and Gas Industry. He went on to earn an Associates Degree from Oklahoma City Community College. He enjoyed fishing especially at the yearly family reunion, loved gardening, and renovating his home.  James loved his family, and was a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed.

James is survived by his daughter, Shanell Mounger of Dallas, TX, his son Christopher Brady of Phoenix AZ, granddaughter, Ashley Mounger , grandson, Bradley Mounger, and great-grandson, Shawn all of Josephine TX. He is also, survived by his sister, Pamella Thomas of Edmond, OK, his nephew, Micah Thomas of The Village, OK and his niece, Chelsea Thomas of Edmond, OK and others.

He is preceded in death by his father, Maurice Brady, mother, Joella Shannon, and sister, Carol Ann.

His Memorial Service will be held at Council Road Baptist Church’s Main Auditorium on January 7th at 11 AM with Reverend Norman Behymer of Council Road Baptist Church.  James will be laid to rest at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery.
