Nora Gene York

Nora Gene York was born to Flossie Ice and Galvond Taylor on November 1, 1952 in Oklahoma City and ascended to be with Jesus our Savior on April 24, 2017. She is survived by husband, Gary York, son Thomas York, Brother in law David York, Sisters in law Susan Storey of Oklahoma City and Jamie Felock (St. Charles, MO). Nora comes from a very large family and is survived by one Uncle (Wesley Taylor) and countless cousins all who she held dear in her heart. Nora graduated from U. S. Grant HS in Oklahoma City in 1970. Nora loved to spend her time sharing her passion for ceramics, mosaics, and serigraphy with the students of Oklahoma City Community College running the art labs. Nora shared her passion of the arts for more than 25 years at OCCC. She had a part in the Oklahoma Centennial Mosaic Project on the Oklahoma River Canal in Bricktown of downtown Oklahoma City. She will indeed be missed by all who knew her but lives on in our hearts always!

 

Visitation will be on April 27th, 2017 from 11am to 12pm at Penn South Church of Christ, 2444 SW 89th St, OKC, OK 73159. Memorial Service will be at the same location at 2pm officiated by Brother J. R. Smith. Internment will be held at Center Pointe Cemetery in Montague County, TX on Friday April 28th, 2017 at 10am. Pallbearers will be Thomas York, David York, Thomas Allen, Tim Claussen, Allen Golden, and Doug Blake.
